Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
