FC Barcelona to Host First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
