Homages Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Remain Under Wraps.
More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "one day without laughter".
"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes wrote.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist
In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
This week, a Los Angeles judge agreed to block the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.
A court order placed a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
