The families of teenagers missing after a deadly fire at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an excruciating wait for answers and appealing for information about their children publicly.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed footage depict the ceiling catching alight as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Authorities have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and injured another scores more. Authorities stated on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to name the final individuals.

In the meantime, relatives have been using online platforms to request information about their missing relatives who were at the bar that fateful night.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, told a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

The Italy's foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its nationals have not been located.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has said that he is deceased, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who represented passion and authentic values."

His father, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has stated that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the venue.

"A close friend said they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.
